The Texas A&M University has teamed with the Secure America Institute, Worlds Enterprises Inc. and the U.S. Air Force on a breathalyzer kiosk using artificial intelligence to detect COVID-19, according to The Texas A&M University website.

SAI will explore ways to ruggedize the "Worlds Protect" kiosk to function in harsh environments and on ships.

The kiosk prototype requires the use of a disposable straw to blow into a copper inlet, enabling test results that can be sent to someone's smartphone.

The SAI team is working to create more accessible versions to enable the kiosk's use in heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems.

The SAI is also working with Elbit Systems, an Israel based technology company, to commercialize the kiosk's use in amusement parks, college campuses and other places people congregate.

The technology might also detect the flu or other maladies such as the flu and fatigue.
