A study by Xi'an Jiaotong-Liverpool University and Fudan University researchers on the impact of EV charging stations on hotels has found that upscale hotels benefit the most from such installations, according to a techxplore.com report.

The researchers examined the monthly revenue of Tesla charging stations on 2,774 hotels in Texas from 2015 and 2018. The results were compared for luxury (top 15%), upscale (next 15%), mid-price and cheaper (lower 70%) hotels.

The first author of the study, Dr. Lixian Qian, suggested that this result is due to upscale hotels and Tesla having similar target markets.
