Reno parking kiosk project still not complete, city wants compensated for lost revenue

September 27, 2012

The Reno parking kiosk saga continues to stir up problems with Curb Systems failing to fulfill all of the obligations put forth in its contract with the city, according to an article on mynews4.com

Today is the deadline for Curb Systems to have completed the necessary repairs to the parking kiosks, in addition to completing the sensor system that was included in the original contract. The company signed the contract with Reno in October 2010, with the stipulation that it would take 24 weeks to complete the project from the date of signing. After close to 100 weeks later, the project is still incomplete with only 103 of the 1,180 parking kiosks having sensors — not to mention the more than $400,000 the city lost in parking revenue from the malfunctioning kiosks.

City officials want Curb Systems to compensate for the lost revenue, but Curb Systems has requested mediation to determine how much it owes.
