Redbox is coming to a drug store near you.
The DVD rental kiosk house announced today it would install its devices in CVS/pharmacy stores nationwide, including Puerto Rico, and in Longs Drug outlets in Hawaii. Plans call for about 700 installations by the end of this year, and for the rollout to be completed by the end of 2011.
The agreement marks the first time that CVS/pharmacy will offer a DVD rental service to consumers.
Redbox, a subsidiary of Coinstar, is currently available at approximately 23,000 locations nationwide and has served millions of consumers renting more than 880 million DVDs to date.
