Redbox is offering a Halloween-themed special on movie rentals at its kiosks across the country between October 21 and November 2.

Customers can reserve Halloween specials at Redbox.com and receive $0.50 off another one-day DVD rental, the company said.

Redbox also announced that a survey the company issued reported "It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown" is customers' favorite movie to watch around Halloween. "Carrie" (2013) is the most rented horror movie in 2014 from the company's kiosks.

Kiosk rental data shows the South as having the biggest appetite for scary movies, as seven of 10 states most likely to rent horror movies are located in the region.

Redbox revealed the top ten states with a taste for the ghoulish are:

1. West Virginia
2. Mississippi
3. Kentucky
4. Louisiana
5. Alabama
6. Ohio
7. Arizona
8. Tennessee
9. Pennsylvania
10. Oklahoma

"We are constantly analyzing our rental data to ensure we are delivering the best experience to our customers," said Kiera Hynninen, senior vice president of brand marketing, in a company news release. "We'll continue to make sure that our friends in the South, as well as the rest of the country, are well stocked for frights this Halloween and throughout the year."
