Redbox faces subpoena in Netflix/Walmart antitrust suit
April 8, 2010
Home Media Magazinereports that DVD-rental kiosk giant redbox is fighting a subpoena in a class action suit against DVD-rental service Netflix and big-box retailer Walmart.
In documents filed with the U.S. District Court in Chicago, redbox argues that the requested information "is irrelevant to the litigation, seeks information duplicative of information that may be obtained from the parties [in] the litigation, seeks redbox's confidential commercial information and imposes an undue burden on redbox as a non-party."
Redbox is expected to ask a judge to dismiss the subpoena April 13.
