March 20, 2002

BANGKOK, Thailand - One of Asia's leading hospitals has turned to a kiosk to keep patients up with news from around the world. Dutch-based technology company PEPC Worldwide has deployed one of its PRESSPOiNT newspaper kiosks at Bumrungrad Hospital in central Bangkok.

PRESSPOiNT kiosks print the latest editions of about 70 daily newspapers from around the world on 8 ½-by-11 inch paper. PEPC began rolling out the kiosks last October, focusing on business and leisure travelers. According to the company's Web site, 44 kiosks have been installed in North America, Europe, Africa, and Asia, primarily in hotels.

According to Editor & Publisher, Bumrungrad caters to more than 750,000 patients per year, with more than 200,000 patients coming from outside Thailand.
