Radiant Systems kiosk solutions recognized by Microsoft

SEATTLE -- Radiant Systems Inc. (NASDAQ:RADS) recently completed a sweep of MicrosoftRetail Application Developer Awards for 2002, earning a U.S. RAD award in the Retail Point-of-Sale category for its Radiant 6e customer self-service kiosk. Earlier this year, Radiant was honored with a European RAD award for its Radiant 6e.

The Radiant 6e is configured so customers can order and pay for products at the kiosk, search for information, and obtain tickets and coupons.

According to the company, Radiant has installed 4,000 of the kiosks. Deployers include regional convenience store chain Sheetz and cinema operator National Amusements.

The RAD awards honor companies that create the most innovative uses for Microsoft software in retail and hospitality settings. Microsoft named 14 winners in this year's RAD awards out of more than 80 applicants.

Radiant has won seven RAD awards since the competition began in the mid 1990s, including five awards in the U.S.
