LONDON -- English Internet access provider Public Network PLC announced on May 13 that it would manage 42 UK-based Internet kiosks for Australian kiosk developer pieNetworks Ltd. on a three-month trial.
Public Network has the option of purchasing the kiosks outright at the end of the trial. The deal with pieNetworks expands Public Network's UK-based kiosk network to more than 400 kiosks.
The deal is the latest that Public Network has secured in its effort to grow a line of coin-operated public access kiosks. Last December, the company announced plans to acquire a subsidiary of kiosk provider Yava Ltd. (See story:Public Network increases kiosk holdings).
