FREMONT, Calif. - Elo TouchSystems will put its brand name on Zytronic Zytouch technology under a private-label agreement between the two companies.
Under undisclosed terms of the agreement, Elo will distribute Zytouch projected capacitive touch-sensor technology on a worldwide basis through Elo's usual distribution channels under the Elo name.
Zytronic's Zytouch sensing technology is used for indoor and outdoor public-access kiosk applications in industries like retail, hospitality, gaming and travel services.
Zytronic's touchscreens feature a proprietary sensing technology that does not require the kiosk user to make direct contact with the touch sensor, according to a news release. The technology uses microfine wires coated with a toughened laminate, which maximizes light transmission characteristics and offers enhanced protection against accidental or malicious threats.
Zytronic's private-label agreement with Elo TouchSystems supersedes a previous distribution agreement with 3M Touch Systems Inc.
