POS Upgrades teams with alwaysAI on self-checkout solution

POS Upgrades, a provider of payment solutions, has teamed with alwaysAI, a provider of a computer vision platform, to bring performance visual recognition systems for food and other items at the point-of-sale to customers, according to a press release. These systems will allow venues to integrate all aspects of contactless service, from item recognition to customer identification.

The companies will offer customers a streamlined self-checkout, particularly for industries such as airports, hospitals, schools and sports venues.

"Our world has experienced huge disruptions to supply chains and labor markets, and companies everywhere are looking for new technologies like contactless checkout systems to fill the gap and drive more business." Marty Beard, co-founder and CEO of alwaysAI, said in the release.
