The Warsaw Frederic Chopin Airport in Poland has installed 15 self-service check-in kiosks, according to a press release. The kiosks join pre-existing units at the airport, making 23 check-in stations now available to passengers.
The check-in kiosks feature card readers, barcode scanners and document scanners, and have the ability to print boarding passes and, on select units, bag tags.
The first passengers to be able to use the new kiosks were those flying with one of seven airlines: LOT Polish Airlines, Lufthansa, Austrian Airlines, Turkish Airlines, Finnair, Air France and KLM. Soon, the kiosks will also be available to passengers travelling with British Airways and Aeroflot. Other airlines are expected to follow in the course of the next few months, the announcement said.
"The new self check-in facilities are yet another element of Chopin Airport's passenger and baggage handling quality policy," said Michal Hofman, head of the passenger handling service. "With the decision to install more self check-in kiosks, equipped with bag tag printers, we want to implement the latest solutions for easier and faster passenger handling that can be seen at airports around the world."
