Pittsfield, Massachusetts installs parking kiosks that accept coins, cards and app-based payment

November 23, 2016

The city of Pittsfield, Massachusetts has installed two of 45 parking kiosks for the downtown, according to the Berkshire Eagle in Pittsfield. The kiosks will accept coins and credit cards for payment and phone apps. The change follows the removal of coin-only operated parking meters.

Rates charged will range from 50 cents an hour up to $1 an hour. The first 30 minutes will be free.

The city council approved this change to paid parking in a 10-0 vote in September.
