Pittsburgh hospital teams with Giant Eagle on video conference health care kiosks

December 17, 2018

The University of Pittsburgh Medical Center has partnered with the Giant Eagle supermarket company to providing video conferencing kiosks in supermarket pharmacies, according to triblive.com. Health care professionals will be able to diagnose symptoms within minutes and recommend treatment. Clinicians will be accessible during regular pharmacy hours in participating stores. The kiosks will be located in existing private consultation rooms next to the pharmacy.

The cost of an AnywhereCare visit will range from free to $49, depending on insurance. Patients will pay separately for prescriptions, which can be sent electronically to the patient's chosen pharmacy.
