Pienetworks gets a slice of lastminute.com's business

LONDON - Kiosk supplier Pienetworks PLC has reached an agreement with the on-line travel assistance company lastminute.com to supply and maintain five kiosks for lastminute in the London area. Four of the kiosks will be located at Heathrow Airport, with the fifth placed in the BhS store on Oxford Street.

The kiosks will function as concierges for travelers, informing them of available hotels along with dining and entertainment options. Travelers can also get information on flight bookings through the service.

Lastminute officials expect the company's kiosks to compete with in-house kiosks already located at Heathrow because lastminute's service will be free.

Pienetworks has placed more than 70 kiosks in 40 locations throughout the UK, including hotels, hospitals, libraries, and retail outlets. Its parent company, Pienetworks Ltd., has installed more than 500 kiosks throughout Australia.
