Phone battery rental kiosk comes to Charlotte

Cellular phone owners can rent batteries for free up to four hours at the first BatteryXChange Apollo kiosk at Charlotte's 7th Street Public Market, according to a Charlotte Business Journal report.

To rent a portable battery, a customer first downloads the BatteryXchange app from either Apple or Google Play app stores. The customer can then scan a QR code to receive the battery. The battery is free up to four hours and can be returned at any Apollo kiosk.

The kiosk holds 48 portable batteries.
