Downtown Phoenix Inc., a non-profit, has proposed eight to 10 digital kiosks to provide real-time transit information, events listings and local business information, according to an azbigmedia report. The group wants the kiosks available before the Super Bowl in February.

Phoenix would be the third city in the valley to install interactive kiosks after Tempe and Mesa.

Revenue would be split between the kiosk vendor and the city, which will use the money to support public services.

The city council will need to change a city ordinance prohibiting advertising in public spaces.
