BURNABY, British Columbia -- Phillips Petroleum Co. (NYSE:P), seeking to expand the reach of its ZapLink kiosk program beyond its Circle K convenience stores, has created a Web site to offer the kiosk's content online.
The Web site, www.zaplinkservices.com, features similar services to the ZapLink kiosks. The site offers video postcards, shopping directories, and links to other Web sites. Direct access to Circle K's Web site is also available.
Kiosk provider Info Touch Technologies Corp. (CDNX:IFT) designed the site and is maintaining it. Info Touch designed and deployed ZapLink kiosks at selected Circle K locations in Phoenix as part of a pilot program.
Circle K has also deployed ZapLink kiosks in the Philadelphia area. About 80 kiosks have been rolled out thus far. Phillips officials earlier this year anticipated deploying an additional 500 kiosks before the end of 2002.
[Editor's note: Info Touch Technologies became Tio Networks in April 2006.]
