Philadelphia's parking authority will replace all existing parking kiosks with solar-powered kiosks, a project that will expand the number of pay-by-plate parking kiosks, according to a msn.com report. The kiosks make it unnecessary for users to place a receipt on the dashboard.
Users enter their license plate number, parking zone number and select a payment method. Parking authority officers scan license plates to verify payment.
Users can still print a receipt from the kiosk or receive one by text if they wish.
The first phase of the rollout in Center City is expected to be completed in a few months.
