The city of Philadelphia has installed its first Narcan kiosk, available 24/7 at the Lucien Blackwell Library on 52nd Street, to address the opioid crisis, according to a WHYY report.

The city is partnering with Dispension Industries, a Canada based company that provides Narcan kiosks, under a program called Narcan Near Me funded by a Centers for Disease Control and Prevention grant.

The touchscreen kiosk gives the user an option to complete a survey designed to help officials get a sense of who is using the kiosk. Once the survey is complete, a door opens offering a kit with two doses of Narcan, a mask, rubber gloves and instructions on using the nasal spray. There is also an option to access the Narcan immediately if the user is overdosing.

Registered users can access up to four doses of Narcan daily using their palm print from the kiosk.
