Carlisle, Pennsylvania has introduced EV charging stations at the Pomfret Street Parking Garage and will also replace downtown parking kiosks, according to a report in The Sentinel.

The borough approved a rate of 75 cents per hour for the two EVcharging stations. The station vendor, Chargepoint Inc., will earn a 10% processing fee.

The borough will replace about 622 parking meters that accept coins and card payments with 60 kiosks that track parking based on license plates and do not require receipts to be displayed in vehicles.

Users will be able to download an app to pay for parking and provide notifications when time is running low.

Butts Ticket Systems will provide the kiosks for a price not to exceed $470,000.
