Radnor, Pennsylvania, has rolled out parking kiosks to replace old parking meters, according to a report by Mainline Media News. The kiosks, developed by Parkeon, were approved by the Radnor Board of Commissioners this April. The kiosks accept both paper money and credit cards.

However, there have been a few issues with the kiosks. At times bright sunlight made it difficult for residents to see the screens. In addition, supervisor of parking and auxiliary services for Radnor Township Police Bill Gallagher had to teach a class at the Wayne Senior Center to teach senior citizens how to use the kiosks.

The kiosks do not give paper receipts or give change. Users have to remember their parking space numbers.

"I think it's going to take a while for the public to learn the ins and outs of these kiosk machines. The reception hasn't been overwhelming," Bob D'Amicantonio, resident and shoe shop owner, said in an interview with Mainline Media News. "In time they'll come around and find the kiosks have conveniences the meters didn't offer. It's a learning curve. Hopefully, in the long run it'll work out for everybody."
