Pennsylvania hospital installs needle disposal kiosk to address opioid epidemic

A Sayre, Pennsylvania hospital has installed a needle disposal kiosk to address the ongoing opioid epidemic, according to mytwintiers.com. 

Guthrie Robert Packer Hospital recently installed a needle disposal kiosk where anyone can drop off their used syringes.

Michael Gum, the assistant director of the Guthrie Clinic Pharmacy, said it has been hard for patients to find an easy way to get rid of unused syringes, which are often used for illicit drugs. 

The hospital is considering expanding kiosks to other locations.
