National Post: PCA Services, which creates hardware and software for dispensing and managing patient drug therapy, has invested $9 million in a kiosk that allows patients to talk to a pharmacist via video conferencing. The kiosk also enables the pharmacist to monitor and control each step of the dispensing process from a video call center. Medication is dispensed from the kiosk by the pharmacist in a few minutes. The machine is also suited for remote dispensing — a method that enables pharmacies to service outpatient locations where a pharmacist isn't physically present. Remote dispensing is practised in two provinces and 17 U. S. states.
