LODI, Calif. - Seeking to make online visits an essential part of the hotel experience, Internet kiosk provider PayStar Corp. (OTCBB:PYST) has entered a strategic alliance with Choice Hotels International (NYSE:CHH) to develop a public access Internet kiosk network at Choice-brand hotels.
The agreement covers more than 3,200 hotels in the Choice network, but PayStar officials did not specify how many hotels would initially take part. Choice brands include Comfort Inn, Comfort Suites, Clarion, Quality, Sleep Inn, Econo Lodge, Rodeway Inn, and MainStay Suites.
Under the agreement, individual Choice franchisees can sign up for the program. Once signed up, the hotel will receive a PayStar pay-per-use Internet kiosk. The kiosks will provide Internet and e-mail access, along with information on special programs, including Choice's frequent-guest program, Choice Privileges.
