Passport kiosks key to U.S.-Germany travel agreement

BTN Onlinereports that the U.S. and Germany have agreed to a traveler reciprocity program that will make it easier for qualified residents to travel between the two countries.
This is the second such agreement, behind a U.S.-Netherlands agreement, to win approval from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.
The rapid passport check at the root of the program involves use of a self-service passport identification kiosk. The system uses biometrics to verify identity.
