American Airlines at Miami International Airport is keeping pace with other global airports already embracing the self-service trend. An article on Future Travel Experiencereported that American installed self-service baggage drop for passengers departing MIA.
The airline described the self-service process as involving three simple steps: Passengers check in using the self-service kiosk, they print their own baggage tag from the same kiosk and then take the luggage (with the tags attached) to a designated bag drop-off zone.
"We are very glad to launch the self-bag tag option in Miami," said Marilyn DeVoe, American's VP, Miami, "Self-tagging brings us one step closer to a modernized, efficient new American by offering our customers more choices along their journey and more ways to customize their travel experience."
