Partnership develops California wellness kiosk

SAN RAMON, Calif. -- Kiosk manufacturer Arral Industries Inc., content provider Critical Mass Media, and the Northeast Valley Health Corp. have teamed to create a health-care information kiosk aimed at low-income women and their children.

The kiosk, which debuted at the California WIC Association's annual conference in Sacramento, Calif., March 26-28, Promotes the federally funded WIC program. The kiosk includes information on food, nutrition, breastfeeding, and community resources. Built with a touchscreen monitor, the animated content is available in English and Spanish.

Deployment plans have not been announced, but the Northeast Valley Health Corp. plans to place the kiosks in shopping malls and Northeast Valley community health centers. The organization will exhibit the kiosk during the National WIC Association annual conference May 12-15 in Minneapolis.

Arral developed and built the enclosure for the association, while Critical Mass Media developed the content.
