ePaynews: Payment card-enabled parking kiosks will bring the city of Seattle about $16 million in revenue in 2006, $6 million more than in 2003. With the new kiosks already earning about $3 more per day, officials believe annual parking revenues could exceed $20 million within a few years. By end-2006, about 1,573 kiosks serving more than 11,000 spaces are scheduled to replace 9,000 meters at a cost of $10.3 million. That could increase, however, if after-hours free city parking is reduced.
