ePaynews: Automated parking meters that support multiple payment options and use sensors, photography and wireless technology for self-enforcement are to reach the market beginning January 2006. Drivers can use multi-currency coins, cell phones or plastic cards to pay for parking at the meters while gaining a grace period in which inadvertently expired meter time can be paid for at a discount.
