A parking kiosk glitch has cost Ocean City, Maryland as much as $20,000, according to a delmarvanow.com report.

Flowbird, which operates the kiosks, performed a software update July 1 that caused some customers to be charged more than once. The city then shut down the paid parking from 9 p.m. July 5 to 5 p.m. July 6, causing a revenue loss of as much as $20,000.

Flowbird has since resolved the issue and is compensating overcharged customers, according to the company.
