Pan-Oston rolling out new self-checkout lane system

January 11, 2010

Pan-Oston introducing the newest model in its Utopia self-checkout family.

The company bills its Utopia EZ lane as a "game-changer," with a number of industry firsts that will make the grocery channel and especially independent grocers take note:

  • First self-checkout lane priced below $15,000 and less than a traditional belted takeaway lane with POS
  • First self-checkout or checkout lane with a 12-month break/fix warranty
  • First self-checkout fully committed to and compliant with the 3 R environmental program —Reduce, Recycle and Reuse

"We are very excited about our new Utopia EZ lane because it really lowers the cost of entry for Independent Grocers and with the 12 month break/fix warranty eliminates any risk," said Jim Vance, president of Pan-Oston. "Retailers who install an EZ lane make a positive environmental impact and have the opportunity to reduce costs and increase profits."

The Utopia EZ lane will be in the Pan-Oston pavilion (No. 412) at next month's National Grocers Association Convention.
