The Lahore Traffic Police has launched Pakistan's first 24/7 airport kiosk at Allama Iqbal International Airport, offering international driving permits to travelers within minutes, according to a 24 News report. This initiative, reported by Gulf News on Sunday, aims to streamline the process for overseas Pakistanis and international travelers.

The dedicated kiosk provides on-the-spot services for issuing new IDPs, renewing licenses, obtaining duplicate licenses and even learner permits, operating round the clock. This facility is particularly beneficial for individuals traveling abroad for work, study or tourism, addressing common last-minute licensing challenges.

Chief Traffic Officer Muhammad Athar Waheed inaugurated the kiosk, emphasizing its role in digital efficiency and citizen-focused service. "We understand the challenges overseas Pakistanis face when it comes to driving licenses. This initiative is aimed at making their travel experience smoother and more convenient," Waheed told the news outlet.

The International Driving Permit, recognized in over 150 countries, translates a valid Pakistani driver's license into multiple languages, ensuring its legal acceptance internationally. The service has been well-received by frequent flyers and expatriates who previously experienced delays at traditional traffic offices.
