Chicago's Elevate Digital, a manufacturer of interactive outdoor kiosks, has raised $2.7 million in a Series A round of funding led by Advantage Capital Partners. Branded as SmartDigital, Elevate Digital already has more than 100 kiosks throughout Chicago and recently announced a partnership with Grouponto sell daily deals and real-time offers on the kiosks. Each kiosk has a touchscreen that displays advertising and tourist information but also allows consumers to take photos of themselves and make purchases, according to the Chicago Tribune.
The company, which is doubling its employees in the next few months, will use the new funding to introduce new products in Chicago, including displays that are designed to be mounted on walls and glass. It may also expand services to New York and Miami.
