More than a dozen traffic control kiosks in Ottawa will be wrapped with archival photos and original art and transformed into interactive history exhibits by scanning a QR code, according to cbc.ca.
The Capital History kiosk project is a collaborative effort between Carleton University, the Workers History Museum and Ottawa. The first kiosk was unveiled last week at the entrance to Lansdowne Park.
Canada's 150th anniversary will celebrate the nation's historical narratives. David Dean, a Carleton University history professor and the project lead on the Capital History Kiosk, asked students in his museum studies seminar to pick a site and run with it, which resulted in the stories.
