LONDON - Online gaming provider GamePoint is providing versions of its most popular games to kiosks through an agreement with NetShift.
The pay-per-play kiosks will be placed in cafes, pubs, clubs and amusement arcades throughout Europe, beginning with a 50-location trial in the Hague. In addition to providing players with an opportunity to play popular games such as Hangman and Tetris, the kiosks will be capable of providing Web access and video e-mail.
The kiosks will accept coins as payment. Remote management software, provided by NetShift, allows customers to change content from a central location, according to NetShift, a U.K.-based technology company with an office in Florida.
GamePoint plans to demonstrate the new kiosks at the Kiosks Europe event in Amsterdam June 17-19.
