The state of Oklahoma will use $66.3 million in federal Infrastructure and Investment Jobs Act funds allocated over five years to create electric vehicle charging stations, according to a report in The Oklahoman. The state department of transportation must produce a plan by Aug. 1 showing how the funds will be spent.
The agency will work with communities to find locations for the charging stations where drivers can couple charging time with shopping, grabbing a meal or visiting a library.
The state already has 1,001 charging stations for 3,410 registered EV cars.
