Tulsa area residents will soon notice a vending machine containing naloxone and fentanyl test strip kits at the Tulsa Day Center, courtesy of the Oklahoma Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services, according to a press release.

The department will place 40 such machines in zip code locations where overdose prevalence is high.

"We believe each Oklahoma household can benefit from having essential tools like these naloxone and fentanyl test strip kits on hand, as most of us know a friend or loved one who has been affected by accidental overdose," Carrie Slatton-Hodges, department commissioner, said in the press release.
