Ohio county considers tax payment kiosk

Commissioners in Richland County, Ohio tentatively approved a contract for a kiosk to allow property owners to look up and pay their taxes, according to a Mansfield News Journal report.

The kiosk accepts cash, credit cards, checks, money orders and electronic checks.

Treasurer Bart Hamilton said Payment Pros offers a standalone pedestal kiosk that costs $10,000 to $11,000, plus $3,500 for yearly licensing, technical support and service. By comparison, other units require $40,000 to $50,000.
