Ohio college town to deploy smart parking meters

The city of Oxford, Ohio, the home of Miami University, plans to install 367 single-space credit card meters and 12 multi-space kiosk meters provided by IPS Group this summer, according to a report in The Oxford Obserer. The meters will charge $1 per hour payable by the ParkMobile app or credit card.

Overflow parking areas, including near McCullough-Hyde Memorial Hospital, will still use coin meters at 25 cents per hour.

The project is expected generate $1.3 million in five years.
