A Milwaukee recreation center employee recently helped save the lives of two men suffering from opioid overdoses, according to a tmj4.com report.

Shaunniece Collins, an office assistant at the MLK Rec Center, grabbed Narcan from a vending machine after finding two men exhibiting symptoms of opioid overdose and sprayed it up their noses. Two other women at the scene administered CPR to the men.

Collins was initially told that two men were suffering from epilepsy seizures, but when she saw the men herself, she knew it wasn't epilepsy. She was familiar with epilepsy seizure symptoms since her son has epilepsy.

"Something told met to grab one of these Narcans," she said.

The vending machine at the center is one of 11 harm reduction machines the county government installed in August.
