HACKENSACK, N.J. - ObjectSoft Corp. (OTC Bulletin Board: OSFT) is partnering with Triveni Digital to offer high-speed digital terrestrial broadcasts to kiosks.
ObjectSoft, a kiosk manufacturer, and Triveni Digital, a developer of digital television systems and subsidiary of LG Electronics Inc., demonstrated their high-speed broadcasts at April's National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) Conference in Las Vegas.
"The point-of-sale (POS) and kiosk industries have been plagued with the high cost and time delays associated with transmitting bulky digital files to remotely located kiosks," said Stefan Semo, ObjectSoft's vice president of technology. "Conventional solutions, such as streaming technology, add incremental costs for each kiosk."
With this new technology, 16megabits per second (Mbps) of data can be transmitted nationwide to all kiosks at once, without additional cost. ObjectSoft and Triveni Digital plan to offer this service to the kiosk industry in the near future, with a commercial availability date to be announced.
In January, the company announced a partnership with CouponSurfer.com to provide merchants and national retailers an opportunity to offer coupons through ObjectSoft's FastTake kiosks. The company's kiosk product, called FastTake, allows users to search and review movie titles, sample movie trailers and purchase other goods and services from the kiosk.
In April, ObjectSoft was delisted from the Nasdaq SmallCap Market because the company failed to maintain a minimum bid price. Later that month, the company named S. Michael Rudolph as chairman, president and chief executive officer. Rudolph replaced David E.Y. Sarna, ObjectSoft's long-time leader, who resigned from the company.
