New York City's department of health and mental hygiene will accept proposals through Jan. 20, 2022 from organizations to deploy public health vending machines to support low-barrier access to opioid overdose prevention and harm reduction supplies, according to a request for proposal.

One goal is to increase access to naloxone, known as Narcan, and other harm reduction and wellness supplies.

Applicants must be located in New York City, be registered with the state department of health as an opioid overdose prevention program, provide direct services to people who use drugs and have a history of conducting community outreach.

The total anticipated funding is $730,000.
