Students at Northeastern University in Boston now have access to wellness products such as pain killers, condoms, contraceptives and personal lubricants at a vending machine in the Marino Recreation Center, according to a news.northeastern.edu report.
The school's Office of Prevention and Education joined the University Health and Counseling Services as well as the student group NU Share to provide the vending machine.
All sexual health products in the vending machine are provided free by UCHS, except for emergency contraceptives, which are priced at $7 compared to an average cost of $35 to $50 at a pharmacy.
Students believe the need for emergency contraceptives is important due to the Supreme Court overturning Roe v. Wade.
