Brevard, North Carolina is upgrading traffic light utility boxes with 6-foot high wayfinding kiosks that promote the community, sponsored by the Transylvania County Tourism, the Heart of Brevard business district and Brevard's Downtown Master Plan Committee, according to a report in The Transylvania Times.
Each side of the kiosk focuses on a different aspect of the community. One side shows an aerial map of the downtown while another displays a full-panel photograph of a couple mountain biking. Still another has information about waterfall safety while another shows an image of a waterfall.
Guests can scan a QR code or use their smartphone to access websites with more information about local attractions.
The first kiosk has been installed at Main and Johnson streets while four more will be added throughout the downtown.
