The North Carolina DMV has expanded its self-service kiosk pilot program by adding additional locations throughout the state, according to a WNCT 9 report.
The NCDMV launched its first kiosk in March of this year, and has found the pilot program to be successful. The kiosks offer vehicle registration renewals, property tax payments for new vehicles and print license plate stickers and registration cards at the time of the transaction.
"I am excited to announce these new services are now available as part of our kiosk pilot," DMV Commissioner Wayne Goodwin told the news outlet. "This is another example of the work we are doing to shorten lines and wait times by using technology to modernize our customer service and provide more options for customers to get what they need in a timely manner."
NCDMV plans to announce six additional self-service registration kiosks later this month.
