Middletown, R.I. -- Swecoin US Inc., designer of small footprint thermal kiosk printers, said Coastal Federal Credit Union (CFCU), a non-profit, member-owned, financial cooperative in Raleigh, N.C., has selected the Swecoin TTP5250 thermal printer supporting 80mm (3.2-inch) wide media to print transaction receipts for their new remote banking system.
Coastal Federal Credit Union has just completed installing the system, including 22 Swecoin printers, in its Raleigh and Charlotte, N.C., locations and will be adding additional branches in 2004, according to a news release.
CFCU is using Swecoin's TTP5250/80mm printer in their Remote Teller Station (RTS) system, which enables the teller and the member to be in different locations while conducting banking transactions. The credit union has a built-in wall facia that holds the Swecoin printer, a signature pad, monitor and audio system.
The monitor and the audio system are set up like a video conference system, in which the monitor displays the teller to the credit union's member and the audio system allows them to talk to each other. Using two cameras, the system captures the member and the teller so both are displayed to each other during the transaction. A tube system allows the member and the teller to exchange items.
"Swecoin is an established leader in thermal printer solutions for self-serve applications, so it was an easy decision to select Swecoin as our thermal printer of choice for the RTS system," said Jeff Rule, project manager at Coastal Federal Credit Union, in the release.
"The system gives added security to CFCU's branches and allows one teller to work two stations. We are very pleased with their reliable performance for our members."
