North Carolina city to install parking kiosks

The City Public Works Department of Henderson, North Carolina, plans to install six new parking kiosks to replace older parking meters.

The City Public Works Department of Henderson, North Carolina, plans to install six new parking kiosks to replace older parking meters,according to areport by WHKP.

The kiosks will be deployed on Oct. 29 and 30, and the department plans to get the machine operational soon after it is placed. Signs will be placed around the parking lots to inform drivers.

"We are excited to continue the process of upgrading the user friendly nature of our public parking lots. The ability to pay for parking in multiple ways was a prominent piece of feedback heard throughout our ongoing efforts to improve the parking experience in downtown Hendersonville," Downtown Economic Development Director Lew Holloway said in the report. "The kiosks represent a significant infrastructure upgrade that will address that need while minimizing maintenance costs."
