NEXUS self-check border-crossing kiosks extending hours during Buffalo Sabres games

NEXUS, an alternative inspection program for crossing the border between the United States and Canada, is extending the hours of its traffic lanes heading into Canada during the National Hockey League's Buffalo Sabres' games, according to WGRZ-TV in Buffalo, N.Y.
NEXUS lanes use card-accepting kiosks to allow pre-approved program members to get across the border faster.
"The NEXUS program allows pre-screened travelersexpedited processing by United States and Canadian officials at dedicated processing lanes at designated northern border ports of entry, at NEXUS kiosks at Canadian Preclearance airports, and at marine reporting locations," according to the U.S. Customs and Border Protection Web site. The NEXUS program is a cooperative venture between the Canada Border Services Agency and U.S. Customs and Border Protection.
