RALEIGH, N.C. and SANTA CLARA, Calif. -- Middleware provider Nexus Software and Infonox, an infrastructure software company focusing on transaction and payment products, have formed a strategic alliance that the two companies say will enable simplified deployment of advanced function, Web-enabled ATMs.
The alliance gives deployers access to Nexus' XFS-compliant INvolve middleware and Infonox's glu-on plug-in technology. Glu-on provides connectivity to Infonox's Active Payment Platform and also offers capability to deployers for managing events, notifications, transaction flows, and repairs.
ATMs using glu-on and INvolve have already been rolled out in gaming and retail markets, according to a news release. Nexus has recently shown interest in the kiosk market, exhibiting at the KioskCom 2002 trade show and conference in Orlando, Fla.
According to officials from both companies, the alliance is expected to speed up the transition from legacy ATMs to Web-enabled ATMs. Current users of INvolve middleware can add glu-on and instantly offer additional transactional capabilities.
